Re: Stallone versus Schwarzenegger
I think Stallone was a very under rated actor to be honest. He just chose to take his career down a different path during the 80's. Saw an interview with him a few months ago where he talked about his 'feud' with Arnie during that time. Really interesting the way he talked about their one-upmanship attempts.

Re: Stallone versus Schwarzenegger
Clearly neither were amazing actors, but there aren't many out there who have made the sort of films these two have, that you can watch multiple times.

Probably have to go for Arnie personally.

Terminator's 1 and 2 are brilliant films along with Predator and what's not to love with Kindergarten Cop?

Fucking love Rambo First Blood though.

"Stallone the better actor..."

Are you sure? Isn't that like stating that Tore is the better footballer when compared to Zaza, Nordtveit or Calleri

Bloody right. The book was farrrr darker. In the movie the contestants are only there because they were already on death row or were nasty criminals of some sort, so that's OK to watch them die on TV.

In the book anyone can apply to compete, and the hero is only there to try to pay for the impossibly expensive medical treatment that would save his daughter's life.

Hollywood bottling it when the story is too real.

Re: Stallone versus Schwarzenegger
would love a proper running man remake based on the book by Stephen King (writing as Richard Bachmann), much much darker then the film

although the film was good in a camp cheesy 80's way

Re: Stallone versus Schwarzenegger
Stallone the better actor. Rocky was a quality film, quite rare in the USA for the hero to lose, but with grace.....unheard of, in fact. I bet the studios hated that ending. First Blood was the first of a new level of action movies.

Saying that, Arnie had the best stories by far, when you look at some of the movies mentioned. Only problem was he couldn't act his way out of a wet paper film set.

The first Terminator and Conan worked so well because he was supposed to be a robot/ thick as brick, so they worked well. The other Terminator movies were good effects and stories, but he wasn't as impressive as the new funny wisecracking Terminator.

Some of those films could have been absolutely excellent with a quality actor that made you believe the situations, rather than just fun action movies.

Anyway, gank's right. What the fuck has this got to do with crisps?

I am mature enough to like both but The Rocky movies are by far the most enjoyable for me.

Predator was a superb classic that had everything...

For me I could watch that again and again. I suppose these days it's tame...

Arne for me. awesome action films in the 80s and early 90s
terminator 1 and 2. predator, total recall, running man, true lies. all superb. commando, red heat and raw deal, cheesy classics.

I don't even mind kindergarten cop or twins.

Junior and jingle all the way I do have issue with though.

rocky 1 and 4 were good as was demolition man and tango & cash

but overall arne.

I enjoyed Cop Land.

Years ago I read an interview with Sylvester Stallone where he talked about his life said he was 'guided by the works of Plato'. I tittered.
